Michael Gates Gill
Start: 7:00 pm

The Bookcase is excited to welcome Michael Gates Gill to Wayzata Community Church at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6. Michael will be on hand to read from, discuss, and sign copies of his new book, How to Save Your Own Life.

Michael Gates Gill received significant national attention for his first book, How Starbucks Saved My Life, when it was published in 2007. The book chronicled his experience losing his high-ranking/high-paying advertising job -- and having to take a job at Starbucks because it was the only thing he could find.

His new book, How to Save Your Own Life, presents readers some inspiring lessons on finding happiness at any stage in life.

This event will be held at Wayzata Community Church, 125 East Wayzata Boulevard.

Jacqueline Regis
Start: 7:00 pm

Jacqueline Regis, author of The Daughter of L'Arsenal, will be reading and signing at The Bookcase on Thursday, January 7 beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The Daughter of L'Arsenal is the story of a young woman who escapes a web of dysfunctional family values and social and political repression in rural Haiti to become a successful corporate lawyer in the United States.

This memoir chronicles Jacqueline's childhood experiences leading to her ultimate flight from the claws of poverty, servitude, violence and death. Her escape, however, came at a cost. In order to survive, she was forced to permanently leave her family, and much of her cultural heritage, behind.
